Against Jealousy
A Question about Indian Customs?
I was reading a novel and it prompted me to ask this question. I am not sure how appropriate it is to ask so I apologize if it isn’t appropriate.
Here are my questions:
1. Are there any customs to keep a pregnant woman or baby protected?
I read about placing a black dot on an infants back to protect against jealousy
2. Are there any customs that occur after an infant death specifically?
3. What about other regular customs after a death?
I read about feeding the poor.
Thank you for anyone who has knowledge on this and is willing to answer. The answers I’m sure will help others as well as myself.
1> Yea der r plenty of Customs specially 4 kids sm ppl belive in puttin a dot on d back, den sm put it on d side of left eye or by simply tyin a black thread on 1 of d knees (same as anklets)
2> no der r no specfic customs but yea if d kid is HINDU den d kids body is Buried as against d custom of puttin it on prye (Burning)
3> After death d customs differ in most parts sm feed d poor, sm feed Bhramins (Holy men), Sm feed Kids
In Short India is very Varied in Customs n traditions U will find different Customs in different parts of d country
